Day 5 Morning: YHA Grasmere

Last night I came back from dinner and purchased a can of beer and some maltesers for an evening snack, as well as a mars bar for tomorrow from the tuck shop at the YHA where I am staying. Purchasing beer at a YHA tuck shop seems very civilized compared to the draconian rules in BC, so I took the opportunity! The Mars Bar is a treat when I reach today's highest point... Grisedale Hause, standing at 1940ft. From there, downhill into Patterdale where I hope to be picked up by my wife for a well earned day off! However this is all in my future, first I need to get my boots and socks from the drying room (fingers crossed on that) then head out of Grasmere on what looks like a broken cloudy day. Starting early today at 8:30, I'm hoping to be done just after lunch... I suspect that's optimistic given how my calfs are feeling..
